Ahoy!
When dark clouds appear on the horizon, the prudent mariner will shorten sail, alter course, and heave to if necessary, to protect the crew, the passengers and the ship from the perils of an impending squall.
Given the recent news from the Bayfield County Health Department that COVID-19 cases are again on an upward trajectory in our region, that disease activity remains high due to our low population, and that outbreaks are being detected after social events, music festivals, and sporting events, the LSTS board members unanimously voted to postpone the 2021 Pirates' Ball until this storm passes and we can hold our gala event without putting anybody at risk.
We are not sure when the Pirate's Ball will be rescheduled yet. We hope that as more people get vaccinated we will quickly reach that level of herd immunity where the threat from the community spread will be diminished and we can get together with all our pirate friends without having to wear facemasks indoors.
Could that happen by January or February 2022? We have our bones crossed.
We want to thank all of our sponsors, everyone who has purchased tickets, and especially those who have made a Fund-a-Sailor scholarship gift in advance of the event. Please know that all tickets and sponsorships will be honored for the rescheduled event, whenever it occurs.

As a Pirates’ Ball Sponsor, you will be helping to support our youth sailing programs as well as promoting your business to over 150 attendees. Benefits for sponsoring The Pirates’ Ball include patron tickets, reserved tables, logo displays, web & social media presence, and more.
Our sponsorship needs range from cold hard cash to in-kind donations for the event and donations of products and services for the silent auction and raffle. We offer several levels of sponsorship, with varying levels of benefit for your business. We also need volunteers to help with a variety of jobs prior to during and after the event.
